NHM Discovers New Gold Reserves in Gosowong
Publish date: 07 Oct 2021, Author : fpesbsi

The exploration team of PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) is reported to have just discovered new gold reserves. Of course, this is good news for the company as well as the surrounding community, as well as the local government. Thus, the mine life is predicted to increase to another (5) years.

The new gold reserves were discovered in the Gosowong gold mine area in the Contract of Work area of PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals in North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province. Furthermore, the new reserves are additional reserves from a number of new resource discoveries.

The revision of the feasibility study on Nusa Halmahera Minerals received by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Ditjen Minerba ESDM), is a professional belief, so Nusa Halmahera and including PT Aneka Tambang are increasingly convinced by the addition of gold reserves.

Separately, the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources confirmed that it had received and, technically and economically, approved the revised feasibility study document. The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has also asked Nusa Halmahera Minerals to immediately follow up.

The two active mines in Gosowong, namely the Kencana and Toguraci mines, are considered to have bright prospects in the future. Referring to the revised 2021 feasibility study document, the total estimated reserves of the mine are known to be 860 thousand ounces or around 26.9 tons of gold.

If it is in line with the company"s mining target, which is at 180 thousand ounces per year, and the addition of new resources, the Gosowong mine age is calculated to be more than (5) years. However, it should be noted that the amount of resources and reserves may change as the results of subsequent exploration continue to this day.

It is known, Nusa Halmahera Minerals previously admitted that they were intensively conducting exploration activities to find new resource reserves, throughout 2021 to 2021. The company uses (9) units of drill rigs for surface, and (4) units for underground. (Source:duniatambang.co.id )
